Rockpool Bar & Grill Melbourne young gun Conner Jeanes joined the team in October 2017.
The 24-year-old Junior Sous Chef started his apprenticeship in 2014 at a local pub in Bentley (The Boundary Tavern), then worked at a microbrewery in Brunswick East (Temple Brewing Company), before completing his apprenticeship at a trendy café, restaurant, and bar in the heart of Mentone (The Corner Store). He enjoyed a gastronomic trip around Europe for several months before joining the Rockpool team.
Conner loved cooking as a child with his mum and grandparents, and says he draws inspiration from “the people I work with and experiences I encounter”.
“The thing I enjoy most about my job is there is something new to learn every single day.”
He also relishes the fast rush of dinner service, cooking great food and, ultimately “being proud of what I do”.
