Leaham Claydon

Leaham is the son of a baker. There is no question where his passion for food developed.

Growing up, Leaham was always looking for something more and managed to get his foot in the door of a family friends café, at an age possibly too young to mention. It was at his local Italian Restaurant where Leaham formally started his apprenticeship at the age of 14, whilst completing school.

Wanting to push his career further, Leaham sought out a position at Sunshine Coast Asian fine-diner, Spice Bar, where he worked for 4 years, honing his knowledge of Asian cuisine under chefs Aaron Ruttan and Simon Hanmer.

In 2019, Leaham moved to Brisbane to be part of Alanna Sapwell’s opening team at Arc Dining and Wine Bar and has since landed a job as Sous Chef at Japanese izakaya, Yoko Dining at the Howard Smith Wharves.

Leaham values simplicity and technique in his cooking, allowing good ingredients to do the talking.
