Adam Liaw’s Chinese-Australian Food Odyssey
Date: Friday 15 March 2019
Time: 6:30pm – 10:00pm
Venue: Chairman & Yip, 1 Burbury Close, Barton
Adam Liaw, host of Destination Flavour (now in its 6th season) and author, takes food lovers through a cultural and culinary time machine this March – and you’re invited!
Joined by Kwok Keung Tung, head chef at Michelin-starred Chairman in Hong Kong, Adam will guide us through the past, present and future of Chinese food in Australia. From reimagining forgotten favourites, to current cult-classics, to exploring the bold new directions for modern Chinese Australian food, this one-time-only banquet menu is an exploration of both place and time.
Chairman Hong Kong is currently ranked 22nd in Asia’s Best Restaurants 2018, as well as taking out the Highest Climber Award. Head chef Tung will join Liaw in exploring Chinese cuisine with finesse and passion. Liaw will be your affable host for the evening, so be ready to ask him all those burning questions about the magic of Chinese cooking and his adventures.
Experience the ultimate food adventure with Adam and Kwok over an incredible 6-course dinner with matched wines at Canberra institution, Chairman & Yip. While very few restaurants today can boast being open for over 20 years, Chairman and Yip opened their doors in 1992 – and have been going strong ever since. This event is bound to sell out quickly, so don’t delay buying your tickets to this one-off incredible evening.
