Beckett’s | Presents Theatre Vignettes No.1 for Good Food Month : ‘The Iliad – Out Loud’ by William Zappa
Beckett’s is proud to present the launch of its dinner-theatre vignette series with a selection of readings from William Zappa’s acclaimed adaptation of Homer’s ‘The Iliad’ and starring Socratis Otto (The Iliad – Out Loud, Wentworth, Home And Away) and Georgia Adamson (The Iliad – Out Loud, Secret River, Home And Away) ), in conjunction with Good Food Month.
This new 2022 series is part of an ongoing dinner theatre program curated by Beckett’s co-owner and playwright-director Wendy Beckett (Claudel at The Opera House). Performed as an intermission to a multi-course dinner, ‘The Iliad – Out Loud’ is a 20-minute reading focusing on the ‘gentler’ aspects of the story. Socratis and Georgia will be accompanied by the brilliant, Hamed Sadeghi, the accomplished Oud and Tar player from the original show.
Celebrating culture, creativity, and cuisine, chef Jeff Schroeter will create a five-course selection of dishes designed to enhance the theatrical experience with wines to match each course by Beckett’s talented Sommelier.
