Take a seat at the table at Aubergine, Canberra’s sleek fine-diner that has consistently been awarded two Good Food Guide chefs hats for the past ten years. Aubergine’s Chef Patron, Ben Willis, is opening his kitchen to Aaron Ward of three hatted Sydney restaurant, Sixpenny. Together, they will bring you an evening of seven phenomenal courses, showcasing why this duo are at the top of Australia’s culinary elite. 

Ben Willis has consistently been the most hatted chef in Canberra. He’s maintained two chef’s hats at Aubergine for 10 years (the restaurant also got the gong for the Good Food Guide’s Regional Restaurant of the Year gong the year after open). 

Meanwhile, Aaron Ward is a part of Sixpenny’s original 2012 team. The team’s rise has been steady, climbing from one hat, to two, to three in 2019. Ward’s rise has been impressive too – he won the Appetite for Excellence Young Chef of the Year Awards in 2016 while he was sous chef at Sixpenny, and has since been promoted to head chef. Sixpenny is one of only two three-hat restaurants in NSW, and here Ward champions local suppliers, growers and producers to create a menu that is absolutely and uniquely Australian. Aaron works alongside Sixpenny’s Chef Patron Daniel Puskas, whose CV boasts New York’s WD-50, Alinea in Chicago, and Sydney’s Tetsuya’s, Marque, Sepia and Oscillate Wildly.

We have implemented appropriate COVID Safe procedures with a view to mitigating the risk of COVID transmission and to allow our guests to comfortably enjoy our dining experiences. In order to adhere to social distancing regulations in line with venue capacity limits, tickets for this Good Food Month feature event are available to purchase in groups of 2 or 4, with no shared tables between mixed parties. Table configurations are limited so all tickets must be purchased together at the time of booking, to ensure you are seated together with your friends and family.
If you have been unwell, recently returned from overseas or unsure if you have recently visited a COVID-19 hotspot, please email us foodandwineevents@publishing.nine.com.au prior to purchasing event tickets.

IMPORTANT EVENT ATTENDANCE INFORMATION

In order to implement social distancing upon arrival and avoid unnecessary congregation of guests at the venue, the event has been split into three sitting times being 6:30pm, 7:00pm and 7:30pm. You will be asked to select your preferred sitting time upon booking and this will be confirmed with you prior to the event via email. Please note we cannot guarantee your preferred arrival time, but we will make every effort to accommodate where possible. We ask that you ensure everyone in your party arrives at the allocated time, and you avoid arriving early or late where possible. These staggered sitting and arrival times allow for guests to, sanitize before entry and check in. Please do not print out your tickets, staff will check you into the event using the name used at the time of booking.

Upon arrival at the venue all guests will need to check-in via the ‘Check In CBR’ app.  Event staff reserve the right to refuse entry to any patrons who are showing symptoms of COVID-19 or any patrons who fail to comply with the conditions of entry. Please do not attend the event if you are feeling unwell, have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19 or is in quarantine and awaiting test results.

A card payment processing fee of 0.50% + $0.12 per transaction and a Roller ticket administration fee of 1.5% per transaction + $1.00 per ticket, will be payable on each booking (inclusive of GST). This will be displayed as ‘transaction fee’ upon checkout.
