GOMA x Yarri x Wildflower

Date: Wednesday 25 November
Time: 7:00pm
Venue: Moana Hall, 618 Hay Street Mall, Perth WA 6000

Good Food Month has been waiting to unleash this artful ode to indigenous Australian produce since the beginning of the year! We’re so excited to bring you a multi-course menu by three chefs who champion native-ingredient cooking, Matthew Sartori (Wildflower, Perth), Aaron Carr (Yarri, Margaret River) and Matt Blackwell (GOMA, Brisbane). While Blackwell can’t be at the dinner in person, Sartori and Carr will execute his dishes with the precision and finesse they are renowned for. Served with wine and beer and held in the historic Moana Hall, this evening will change everything you know about seasonal eating.

With many native foods experiencing very short seasons, it’s a labour-intensive approach to cooking, but that’s the way these committed chefs like it. For Sartori, growing up in country Western Australia meant he saw bush food and seasonality first-hand. It was no accident he was drawn to Wildflower, whose menu famously changes with the six seasons of the Indigenous Noongar calendar.

Carr left a 21-year tenure at Margaret River’s famous hatted Vasse Felix restaurant to join the crew at Yarri. Yarri’s menu honours the nature and seasonality of the region, sourcing sustainable produce from dedicated WA growers. The celebration of indigenous produce pays off with Yarri currently awarded one Chef’s Hat.

Over at Brisbane’s hatted GOMA, the tattoo-covered Blackwell takes the modern art off the walls and slams it straight on the plate with inventive, creative dishes that hero local produce.  Blackwell earned his stripes in the Michelin-starred UK kitchen The Man Behind the Curtain, and you can expect his menu contribution to be a riot of colour and a celebration of local flavours.

Enjoy this is a multiple-course dinner served with wine and beer that not only showcases excellence in fine dining, but that also takes pride in the beauty and singularity of our nation’s bounty. Tickets are limited so please don’t delay in booking your seats to this wonderful one-off event.
