Parlour | Food For Thought
This is a very special event that focuses on how to live a sustainable life in Canberra. It is hosted by Canberra favourite, Parlour, situated in the bustling cultural precinct New Acton. You’ll be treated to a stunning three-course degustation menu featuring local and seasonal produce, together with interesting and engaging talks by Canberra-based environment and sustainability industry leaders.
The theme of the event is ‘Food For Thought’ and will focus on ways we, as Canberrans, can reduce our footprint through changing the way we commute, dispose of our waste, where we source our food and creating greener living conditions.
Guest speakers will be chatting for 10-15 minute intervals on a topic of their choice, with a short Q&A at the conclusion of their discussion piece. To give some background, in 2015 the ACT State of the Environment Report showed that our footprint was 8.9 global hectares per person – which is 3.5 times the global average. The event is also raising awareness for SEE Change, a Canberra-based not-for-profit group that supports action to reduce Canberra’s ecological footprint.
