Tequila Mockingbird | Nikkei Nights
This January Tequila Mockingbird is dedicating four nights to Peruvian-Japanese fusion food – Nikkei – and pairing with a selection of handpicked Latin wines from Viticult & Bibendum.
Born in Peru, Nikkei takes the most refined elements from Japan and Peru’s strong culinary traditions and melds them into something else entirely.
Head Chef Will Quartel has designed a bespoke 5 course set menu exclusively for the dinner series exploring signature flavours unique to this magical food fusion. The menu has a heavy focus on seafood drawing on the significance both traditions give to fresh fish. Japanese sushi, buoyed by Peru’s thriving fishing industry, mixes perfectly with the ceviche which is at the centre of many Peruvian menus.
