Brand’s Laira Pop Up Cellar Door

Without a doubt Coonawarra is one of the wine world’s hidden gems, known as the ‘other red centre’ and internationally renowned for producing some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon in the world. Coonawarra is home to Brand’s Laira, one of the region’s first small wineries and owners of some of the oldest vineyards dating back to 1893.

Situated in South Australia, about halfway between Adelaide and Melbourne, the region is famed for its small yet perfectly formed ‘terra rossa’ strip. This refers to the unique soil type and its rich terracotta colour. This combined with a long cool ripening season and a permanent supply of pure underground water makes Coonawarra perfectly suited to creating outstanding expressions of Cabernet Sauvignon.
